Annual Ancestral Healing Water Ceremony

URSPIRIT’s Annual Ancestral Healing Water Ceremony (For Africa & the African/Black Atlantic Diaspora), facilitated by Crystal BlackCreek Carlisle (Onyinyechi-Chipo), since 2019, takes place every Winter Solstice (June 21st). Inspired by the words of Queen Mother, Winnie Mandela, who said years before her transition to the ancestral realm in 2019, “We have to do something about those bones in the ocean”. We began at the 400 Year, (post Olmec), Commemoration of African American History, from 1619-2019 onward). In this ceremony, we are doing the work for healing from the effects of the African Holocaust, the Middle Passage, the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, and continued Racial Injustice, Institutionalized Racism and Oppression, Jim Crow, White Supremacy’s Lies, Erasure of our History, Culture, Spirituality and Contributions to the World, Dehumanization and Demonization of all things African and Black, the Break-up of our Families, Rape, Lynchings, and Dehumanizing Treatment of our Men, Women, and Children, and the Devaluation of Black Lives endured by our enslaved and colonized ancestors and we, their descendents, while being denied Reparations.. We focus also on healing the ancestral patterns handed down, as a result of this ongoing trauma and also on atonement to our ancestors for disconnection to them and our ancestral, cultural, spiritual traditions. Annual Yemaya Water Ceremony

URSPIRIT’s Annual Yemaya Water Ceremony, (facilitated by Crystal BlackCreek Carlisle (Onyinyechi-Chipo) since 2024, takes place every New Years Eve, (December 31st), in honor of Yemaya, the mother of all orishas, mother of salt waters of the oceans and rivers, in the Yoruba spiritual tradition. We began this work, upon inspiration from Grandmother, Yeye Luisah Teish on how powerfully important this particular cultural/spiritual retention has been and we heeded the call of our ancestors to join others, simultaneously, throughout Africa and the Diaspora, carrying forward this ancestral tradition that has been practiced on the coasts of West Africa, Brazil, and other parts of the Diaspora for over 700 years.
